you do realize it was because there was a war on? two actually, seeing as how you have ration and ministry of food posters from both world war 1 & 2 represented here. yes, they are propaganda posters, but there were food shortages and these are meant to remind people back home to do their bit by growing food in their own gardens, not being wasteful and by doing with less food so the troops and people of europe can have a bit more to ease their suffering. i wouldn't say these posters were silly.
